It was a Saturday night rematch between the Vancouver Warriors and Rochester Knighthawks at Rogers Arena. The two teams battled to the end and the Warriors came out victorious, hanging on to win 16-15.

After back-to-back road wins, the Vancouver Warriors were back in action at Rogers Arena on January 16. Despite their best efforts, including a couple of comebacks, the Warriors fell short, losing to the San Diego Seals 11-9.

The Vancouver Warriors have won just under a quarter of their face-offs since the start of the 2025-26 NLL season. They have won a total of 16 out of 67 face-offs, a 24% win rate. 

On December 13, the Vancouver Warriors faced off against Las Vegas Desert Dogs for their week 3 matchup. After a tough loss on opening night, the Warriors fought hard to get their first win of the season, beating the Desert Dogs 15-9.

The Warriors were aiming to get a win in their first game of the season and first game in front of the home crowd, but unfortunately, they fell short and lost 10-7 to the Mammoth. Diana Matheson had a vision for women’s soccer in Canada. Through her determination and hard work, she made that vision a reality, co-founding the Northern Super League (NSL), a professional women’s soccer league in Canada.

On November 22, 2025, the Vancouver Whitecaps went head-to-head with LAFC in the Western Conference Semifinals. They came out victorious, defeating LAFC on penalty-kicks.

The Vancouver Whitecaps took on FC Dallas on October 18, 2025, in their last game of the regular season. Currently on a winning streak of 11, they were aiming for 12, but unfortunately suffered a 2-1 loss. 

On October 5, 2025, the Vancouver Whitecaps took on the San Jose Earthquakes, taking a 4-1 win in this Western Conference matchup.  Both teams were eager for a win, as the Whitecaps looked to secure a top-four position in the West, while the Earthquakes looked to earn a spot in the playoffs.

The Vancouver Whitecaps took on the Portland Timbers on September 24, 2025 in MLS action and in a regional battle for the Cascadia Cup.  In a fight for the Whitecaps to earn points towards the Supporters’ Shield and the Timbers to earn points to capture a playoff spot, both teams had to settle for a point, with the match ending in a 1-1 draw.

On September 19, 2025, the Vancouver Warriors announced their schedule for the 2025-2026 season. After making it to the NLL Playoffs for the first time in franchise history last season, the Warriors will work to take the next step by making their first NLL Finals appearance and competing for their first NLL Cup.

The 2026 Winter Olympics for Men’s Hockey begins on February 11, with the final, gold medal game, being played on February 22. Canada is 1 of 12 nations competing for Gold. They will start the tournament in Group A, playing Czechia, Switzerland, and France. Group B consists of Slovakia, Finland, Sweden, and the host country, Italy. Group C consists of the United States, Latvia, Germany, and Denmark.

On September 13, 2025, the Vancouver Whitecaps played the current Supporters' Shield leaders, Philadelphia Union. A dominant showing from the Whitecaps saw them take down the top of the league 7-0, the clubs largest margin of victory in their history.

The upcoming NHL season is fast approaching, and at the mid-season break, some Canucks players could be jetting off to Milan, Italy to represent their home country at the 2026 Winter Olympics. 

The Formula 1 summer break is coming to a close, marking the beginning of the second half of the 2025 season. The first half saw plenty of action in the World Championship for Drivers, including what looks to be the dethroning of four-time consecutive champion, Max Verstappen, and 2 first-time championship leaders in McLaren teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

On August 23, 2025, the Vancouver Whitecaps took on St. Louis City SC for the second time this MLS season. The last game ended in a clean sheet draw, but this time the Whitecaps won, taking the game 3-2 off a late penalty kick that saw Müller score his first goal as a Whitecaps.

The Vancouver Whitecaps were back in MLS action this Sunday, August 17, 2025 after a brief trip to Ontario for the 2025 Telus Canadian Championship. The Whitecaps were looking for a win to close in on the top spot of the Western Conference standings, but had to settle for one point from a 1-1 draw against the Houston Dynamo FC.

July 9, 2025, the Vancouver Whitecaps took on Valour FC in leg 2 of their quarter-final matchup in the 2025 Telus Canadian Championship. With the first leg ending in a 2-2 draw, the aggregate score was tied. Whoever won leg 2 would move on. The match against Valour marked Brian White and Sebastian Berhalter’s return from international duty for team USA. They played in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, making it to the finals where they lost 2-1 to Mexico.

Leon Draisaitl of the Edmonton Oilers, opened the scoring only 1:06 into the first period of the Stanley Cup Finals. The man who opened the scoring of the Stanley Cups Final was also the overtime hero, stealing game 1, and taking a 1-0 series lead for the Oilers.  This opening win was the only time the Oilers led the series despite opening the scoring. Florida came back next game to tie the series, they then won again to take a 2-1 series lead. The Panthers never looked back, eventually going

Canada’s Men’s National Team (CMNT) opened up the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament on June 17, 2025, with a dominant 6-0 win over the Honduras National Football Team. The match took place at BC Place, marking the first time Vancouver has hosted a Gold Cup game, and the only game CMNT will play in Canada this tournament.

Vancouver and Seattle, the two new teams in the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL), are officially building their rosters for their entry into the PWHL this season.  The roster building process takes place in two parts; the exclusive signing window and the expansion draft. This will build the new franchise’s roster of 12. The exclusive signing window is now over. 

“We’ll see you in the Finals next year, Stu. You guys are too good.” said Florida Panthers, Matthew Tkachuk, to Edmonton Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner after they defeated them in game 7 of the 2024 Stanley Cup Finals.  Now, in a full circle moment, fans are getting a rematch between the Panthers and Oilers in the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals. 

The Vancouver Whitecaps FC took on the Minnesota United FC on May 28, 2025. It was a match dominated by the Whitecaps, but Minnesota held strong keeping them off the board for a final draw of 0-0. This was the Whitecaps last Major League Soccer (MLS) game before they travel to Mexico to play in the CONCACAF Champions Club Final on June 1, 2025. They were looking to get a win, but more importantly, make sure no player got injured, which they managed to do.

May is Mental Health Awareness month, a topic that has been gaining awareness in the professional sports community over the past few years. One professional athlete who has been extremely open about his mental health is Lando Norris. Lando Norris, a Formula 1 (F1) driver, race winner, and contender for the 2025 Driver’s World Championship. With such titles, comes high expectations from those around him, particularly from his team, fans, and himself.
