The game picked up where it left off last night with high energy and physical game play. Plays and hits were clean which led to no penalties in the first period.

Abbotsford continued to battle hard looking for the tying goal in the remaining minutes of the first. However, the period would end 1-0 for Calgary.
The second period started much like the first with high energy, however, much of the game play would be in the Abbotsford zone. Tolopilo made a number of great saves early on to keep the score 1-0.
The Abbotsford offense began to pick up in the second half of the second period, however, they could not get the puck into the net despite a number of scoring opportunities.
Turnovers and drop passes were a challenge for both teams, which broke down the flow of the game.
Calgary’s Martin Frk took the first penalty of the night for interference with 23 seconds left in the second, giving Abbotsford the opportunity to tie the game.
The second period would end 1-0 for Calgary.
The third period began with 1:37 left on the Abbotsford power play, however, the energy was low. Chase Wouters took a shot on goal which brought the energy back up. Calgary was successful on the penalty kill.
Both teams battled hard, Abbotsford looking for their first goal of the night to tie the game, while Calgary looked to widen the score.
Abbotsford pulled their goalie for the extra attacker with just over 2 minutes remaining in the final period.
Calgary’s David Silye took a delay of game penalty for a faceoff violation with 1:57 remaining. However, Frk would serve the penalty. The game would go 6-on-4 for Abbotsford, who looked to tie the game in the dying minutes.
Danila Klimovich would capitalize on the power play scoring at 19:10 in the third. The goal was assisted by Nils Åman and Sawyer Mynio.
This goal pushed the game into overtime. Though Abbotsford had a number of chances to end the game it still wouldn’t be enough. The game would go to a shootout.
Klimovich scored
the game winning goal in the shootout, giving Abbotsford a 2-1 victory.
