On October 22, the York Theatre hosted the screening of the documentary, The Pitch by the Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Michèle Hozer. The film follows Olympic medalist Diana Matheson’s journey on the creation of the Northern Super League (NSL).

Diana Matheson had a vision for women’s soccer in Canada. Through her determination and hard work, she made that vision a reality, co-founding the Northern Super League (NSL), a professional women’s soccer league in Canada.

The Vancouver Rise battled against the Montrèal Roses on June 22, 2025 at Swangard Stadium. The final score ended in a goalless draw ahead of the break. This was the third time the Rise faced the Roses, a team that is sitting at second in league standings. The Rise had to bring their A-game, which was visible from kick-off. 

The Vancouver Rise battled against AFC Toronto in a devastating loss on June 11, 2025 at Swangard stadium.

The Vancouver Rise took on the Halifax Tides in their second matchup of the season on May 21, 2025.  The Rise played their first home game after two games back East, where they went 0-1-1. They were looking to get back into the win column against the Tides. Which they managed to do  with a 2-1 victory.

The Vancouver Rise FC played their first game at their  home field, Swangard Stadium on April 27, 2025. They took on the Montreal Roses FC.

On April 16, 2025 Vancouver witnessed history at BC Place with the first ever kick-off in the Northern Super League. Marking a new era for women’s soccer in Canada.
