The Vancouver Rise battled against the Montrèal Roses on June 22, 2025 at Swangard Stadium. The final score ended in a goalless draw ahead of the break.
This was the third time the Rise faced the Roses, a team that is sitting at second in league standings. The Rise had to bring their A-game, which was visible from kick-off.
Compared to their last home game against Toronto AFC, the Vancouver Rise began their attack faster. They were quicker, made smarter passes, and took more risks as they got closer to the net.
Morgan McAslan made great saves for the Rise throughout the whole game. The Roses were determined and kept pushing for goals and tried to seek chances on the rebounds, but McAslan limited each of their attempts.
Lisa Pechersky had a great game, seeking opportunities to score every chance she could. Many Rise players took amazing shots but the Roses goalie kept stopping them. No team was able to score.
The crowd at Swangard was as loud as always. Both teams showed great effort but the match resulted in a draw.
The Vancouver Rise are looking to rest and regroup after the break. The next game at Swangard Stadium takes place July 24, 2025 against Toronto AFC.
