Vancouver welcomed the FIM World Supercross Championship on November 15. BC Place was transformed into a motorcycle track for the evening as 7 teams lined up to compete at the Canadian GP.

The 2 categories were SX1 and SX2, both competing in 2 sprint races before facing up for the main race.

Both categories race for 8 laps at the sprints and move on to battle for 12 laps at the main race. As for points, each racer will gain more the higher positioned they are by the end of the race.

With loud engines and a fiery background, the crowd was entertained with the speed and agility of the races.

Max Anstie, with team GSM powered by Star Racing Yamaha, swept the SX2 category, placing first in all three races. Coty Schock trailed behind Anstie, securing a second place in the podium.

For the SX1 category, the intensity increased. With sharper turns and a few tricks, the riders seemed more competitive. Eli Tomac, racing as a wild card with Red Bull KTM, clutched the first win. Ken Roczen from PMG outskilled him in the second sprint race.

As the racers lined up, Roczen and Tomac had the best advantage to get the win. However, Roczen’s poor start gave Tomac the advantage as he raced throughout the course.

Even though this race held the final say in who the winner was, it seemed like the riders had more fun with it. With higher jumps and more tricks while up in the air, the SX1 main race was a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

Eli Tomac took the win in his debut with Red Bull KTM’s bike.

Make sure to follow the rest of the WSX championship, with their final race being the South African GP on Dec 13.
