SoFi Stadium was roaring on Mar 20 after a match up between Mexico and Canada for the CONCACAF Nations League, where the south dominated the north with a 2–0 win.

The crowd roared as the game began, the fans rooted for their teams with a visible passion. Yet the Mexican fans got a delightful surprise after a goal by Raúl Jiménez after just 45 seconds into the game. This incredible start from the Mexican team kept their spirits high throughout the match. Canada was not giving up easily, as Jonathan David tried to score on the 12 min but his goal was denied by the Mexican goalie.

The red-and-white team dominated the attacking third, but it seemed like they were a little disorganized. Too much passing and not enough shooting allowed for Mexico to keep the lead. After the first 30 min, Canada seemed to get more pace as they sought out opportunities to shoot. Mexico defender, Edson Álvarez, goes in for a head-goal in the 32 min. It was electric and excited the Mexican fans at the stadium, but fortunately for Canada, the Mexican player was offside. After the first half, the best strategy for the Canadian team would be to regroup, as they kept shooting but lacked accuracy.

With the start of the second half, there was an increase in both intensity and intention from the Canadian side. Star players like Alfonso Davis and Jacob Shaffelburg actively tried to even the score but continued failing. The minutes were running and Canada was appearing to play with a hint of desperation. Mexico noticed this and was able to capitalize on their mistakes, which made it seem like they were dominating the game.

With a free kick at 75 (min?) Jiménez placed another goal past Dayne St. Clair, making the score 2–0 for the remainder of the game. This kick re-energized the Mexican fans, who wore their country’s flag proudly around their shoulders and Mexican lucha-libre masks to show the passion they have for the game.

With wide smiles, Mexico scored a ticket to the finals against Panama. This game will be played Mar 23 at 6:30 PT. Will Mexico prove themselves worthy of their spot at the FIFA World Cup beyond securing a spot as a host?

As for Canada, they have the opportunity to redeem themselves for a third place in a match-up against Team USA. Cheer on the Canadian National Soccer team on Mar 23 at 3 PT. Both games will be played at SoFi Stadium once again.
