Abbotsford Canucks battled hard but the Henderson Silver Knights took the series

March 15, 2026 marked the last game of the season between the Abbotsford Canucks and the Henderson Silver Knights. Henderson was coming off a 4-1 win heading into the game, while Abbotsford looked for redemption.
Though Abbotsford played a solid game the night prior, getting 30 shots on goal, they couldn’t get the puck past Carl Lindbom.
The first period saw a lot of action early on. Abbotsford came close to getting on the board in the opening minute.
Jayden Grubbe secured the first goal of the game at 1:49 in the first. This was his first as an Abbotsford Canuck. The goal was assisted by Austin Brimmer and Jack Thompson. This was Brimmer’s first AHL career point.
Abbotsford continued to battle hard, keeping the pressure on. Nick Poisson scored at 5:46 in the first, the goal was assisted by Sawyer Mynio.
Henderson’s Viliam Kmec got on the board at 7:15 in the first.
Tensions were high sending both Danila Klimovich and Henderson’s Mitch McLain to the box at 9:51 in the first for roughing, putting the game 4-on-4. Both teams were successful on the penalty kill, keeping the game 2-1 for Abbotsford.
The game continued with high energy and intense game play. Abbotsford looked to pull ahead, while Henderson looked to tie the game.
Henderson’s Ben Hemmerling tied the game at 12:47 in the first.
With the game tied, both teams continued battling hard for the tie breaking goal in the last minutes of the first period.
Henderson’s Hemmerling broke the tie at 14:13 in the first, giving Henderson their first lead of the game.
Abbotsford continued to battle back and apply pressure on the offensive to get the game tied again, however, they could not capitalize.
Brimmer and Henderson’s Bradon Hickey dropped gloves at 17:53, in the first. Both served 5 minutes each for fighting.
Henderson’s Lukas Cormier went to the box at 18:34 in the first for holding the stick. Giving Abbotsford the man advantage.
The first period ended 3-2 for Henderson.
The second period started with 34 seconds left on the Abbotsford power play. Henderson was successful on the penalty kill.
Abbotsford continued to battle hard for the tying goal, while Henderson looked to put the score up by two.
The physicality ramped up in the second as the game remained within one. Abbotsford continued to apply pressure and tried to get past Henderson’s Cameron Whitehead.
Henderson’s Hemmerling secured a hat trick at 8:31 in the second, putting Henderson up 4-2.
Grubbe went to the box at 11:00 in the second for slashing, putting Henderson on the power play. Abbotsford was successful on the penalty kill.
Abbotsford continued to battle hard to close the gap, but energy seemed to be a struggle throughout the second.
Tensions flared in the dying seconds of the second period leading to a number of penalties on both sides. Chase Wouters and Jaycob Megna dropped gloves at 19:29, both serving 5 minutes for fighting. Cole Clayton and Henderson’s Mathieu Cataford also went to the box for roughing at 19:29 in the second.
In the final seconds of the period it looked as if Abbotsford secured a goal as the buzzer went, but it would be waved off as a no goal.
The second period ended 4-2 for Henderson.
The third period started with Abbotsford having something to prove, as they continued to apply pressure, looking to get the game within one.
Ty Mueller scored at 1:08 in the third, the goal was assisted by Bennett Schimek. This was Schimek’s first AHL career point.
Henderson’s McLain went to the box for cross-checking at 1:54 in the third, giving Abbotsford the man advantage. Chase Stillman capitalized at 3:28 in the third, to tie the game on the power play. The goal was assisted by Danila Klimovich and Kirill Kudryavtsev.
The energy shifted in the building after the tying goal, both teams applying pressure looking for the pull ahead goal.
Henderson’s Dylan Coghlan broke the tie at 7:29 in the third.
Kudryavtsev took a delay of game penalty at 9:14 in the third, giving Henderson the man advantage. Abbotsford was successful on the penalty kill.
Moments after the Henderson power play ended, Kai Uchacz scored at 11:18 in the third, putting Henderson ahead 6-4.
Henderson’s Jackson Hallum went to the box for high-sticking at 14:39 in the third, giving Abbotsford the man advantage. Abbotsford pulled the goalie for the extra attacker putting the game 6-on-4 during the power play. Henderson was successful on the penalty kill.
Klimovich got the game within one at 16:43 in the third. The goal was assisted by Thompson and Wouters.
Abbotsford pulled the goalie with over 2 minutes remaining for the extra attacker, as they looked to tie the game in the dying minutes.
Henderson’s Hemmerling got his fourth of the night on an empty net with 42.5 left on the clock.
Henderson took the game with a win 7-5, sweeping the final matchup between these two teams.
The Abbotsford Canucks head on the road, for three games, before making their return to Rogers Forum on March 28, at 7 pm, PST, where they face-off against the San Diego Gulls.
