Abbotsford Canucks bounce back against the Manitoba Moose

March 11, 2026 marked the last meeting between the Abbotsford Canucks and the Manitoba Moose for the 2025/2026 series. Manitoba headed into the final face off with a 4-0 win from the night before, while Abbotsford went in looking to split the series. 


Arshdeep Bains returned to the ice after missing a few games due to injury. During the last away series Bains became the all-time points leader for the Abbotsford Canucks. Austin Brimmer made his Abbotsford Canucks debut, after being signed a day ago. 


The first period started hot from the drop, picking up where last night's game left off. The energy was high, as Abbotsford looked to get on the board early. 


Manitoba fought hard putting the pressure on but Ty Young managed to fend them off from an early goal. 


Ty Mueller and Manitoba’s Dawson Barteaux went to the box at 10:39 in the first. Mueller served 2 minutes for goal tender interference, while Barteaux served 2 minutes for roughing.


Manitoba came close to a goal on a break away, but Young stayed calm under pressure, keeping the game 0-0. 


Both teams killed their penalties successfully, and continued to battle hard to get the opening goal. 


Nils Åman got Abbotsford on the board at 14:26 in the first, the goal was assisted by Bains and Sawyer Mynio. 


Manitoba’s Barteaux went to the box at 15:46 for holding, giving Abbotsford the man advantage. Danila Klimovich capitalized on the power play at 16:08 in the first, the goal was assisted by Jack Thompson and Åman. 


Manitoba’s Isaak Phillips went to the box at 16:58 for high-sticking, putting Abbotsford back on the power play. Manitoba was successful on the penalty kill. 


The first period ended 2-0 for Abbotsford. 


The second period started with the same energy as the first. Both teams battled hard, Abbotsford looking for their third goal of the night, while Manitoba looked to get on the board. 


Manitoba pulled their goalie early in the second for the extra attacker. 


Brimmer went to the box at 2:53 in the second for high-sticking, putting Manitoba on the power play. Abbotsford was successful on the penalty kill. 


Chase Stillman went to the box at 6:16 in the second for slashing, giving Manitoba the man advantage. Manitoba’s Mason Shaw capitalized on the power play at 8:08 in the second. 


Tensions began to rise throughout the second, with physicality ramping up, with the one goal difference. 


Joe Arntsen and Manitoba's Tyson Empey dropped gloves at 8:20 in the second. Each serving 5 minutes for fighting. Moments later Chase Wouters and Ashton Sautner dropped gloves at 8:42, both serving 5 minutes for fighting. Sautner would serve an additional 2 minutes for roughing. 


This would put the game 5-on-4 for Abbotsford. Manitoba successfully killed Sautner’s roughing penalty, putting the game back to 5-on-5. 


Jimmy Schuldt went to the box at 12:10 for boarding, giving Manitoba the man advantage. Abbotsford was successful on the penalty kill. 


Both teams battled hard, Abbotsford looked to get back to a two point lead, while Manitoba looked to tie the game. 


The second period ended 2-1 for Abbotsford. 


The third period started with both teams driving the puck to the opposing goal, looking to score early in the period. 


Dino Kambeitz went to the box at 1:53 in the third for hooking, putting Manitoba on the power play. Abbotsford was successful on the penalty kill. 


The physicality remained high between the teams, both hoping to get a point on the board in the second half of the final period. 


Abbotsford had a number of chances but it would be Klimovich that would find the back of the net at 12:39 in the third. The goal was assisted by Cole Clayton and Bains.  


Manitoba pulled their goalie with 3 minutes remaining in the third for the extra attacker. 


Schuldt scored at 18:22 in the third unassisted. 


Abbotsford would split the series taking the final game against the Manitoba Moose 4-1. 


The Abbotsford Canucks are back in action on March 14, at 7 pm, PST, at Rogers Forum where they face off against the Henderson Silver Knights.
