The C’s had an early lead against the Hillsboro Hops on Apr 28 at the Nat Bailey Stadium but ultimately fell in later innings.
The first inning had no runs from either team but Hillsboro’s Brady Counsell got a home run at the top of the second.
At the bottom of the third, Carter Cunningham hit a double. Right after, Blue Jays #3 prospect Arjun Nimmala hit a homer that got the C’s the lead, score now 2-1.
Vancouver’s third run came later in the sixth, with a double hit by Payton Williams. Yet the lead was not able to be held by the Canadians.
Hillsboro’s Alberto Barriga hit a home run and allowed for a teammate to run to base. The score was now tied. The Hops continued to score a couple more runs, ultimately winning the game.
Even if the result was not in favor of the Canadians, The Nat was loud and rowdy. Being a Tuesday night, the stadium had their special 75¢ hot dogs that were a hit. By the end of the night 5312 hot dogs were sold.
