The Goldeneyes faced off against the defending back-to-back Walter Cup champions for their last game of their inaugural season. The Pacific Coliseum hosted the Minnesota Frost on Apr 25 for Pride Night as the PWHL regular season comes to an end. With an electric 4-3 overtime win, Vancouver secured the first-overall pick in the 2026 PWHL draft.

The Frost opened the scoring in 4:04 with a goal by Kendall Coyne Schofield. However, Surrey native Jenn Gardiner responded 49 seconds later. With her ninth goal of the season, Gardiner evened the score. Sarah Nurse extended Vancouver’s lead with a goal at 10:08, assisted by Jacques.

Starting the second period, Hannah Miller wasted no time getting the puck at the back of the net in 1:50 with a powerplay goal. The second period saw an increase in assertiveness by all players, especially coming from Frost.

Early in the third period, Kelly Pannek pushed back to decrease the deficit. Following that lead, Klára Hymlárová tied the game for Minnesota at 9:26. Vancouver was now holding on to defense until the period ended.

As overtime started, Sophie Jacques secured the Goldeneyes the win. Jacques buried the puck in the back of the net for the ninth time this season, setting a new single-season record for PWHL defenders.

This win placed Vancouver in the top of the Gold Plan standings. With the rest of the results across the league, the Goldeneyes secured the first overall draft pick in the 2026 PWHL Entry Draft.
