The Vancouver Whitecaps played St. Louis City on Sept 5 at BC Place. With a 3-1 score, the ‘Caps were not able to get the win. This extended St. Louis’ unbeaten streak to their 13th match.

The Whitecaps were quick to attack first. Just three minutes in, Emmanuel Sabbi opened the scoring. By capitalizing on the opponent’s mistake, Sabbi electrified the crowd with a thrilling goal.

However, ex-Vancouver player, Simon Becher, tied the scoring at 23'. This gave the ‘Caps plenty of time to try and regain the lead. With fast feet and a clear goal in mind, Vancouver was able to dominate the rest of the first half.

As the second half started, the Whitecaps needed a new strategy. Yet St. Louis City was faster on the attack. Tomas Totland put a goal past Takaoka in the 41’. Taking advantage of the momentum, Conrad Wallem scored for St. Louis City once again just four minutes later.

Even with great efforts by both Brian White and Ryan Gauld, the Whitecaps were not able to get back on the board. St. Louis City ended the game with a 3-1 final score.
