On October 26, Abbotsford Canucks faced off in their second home game of the season against the Ontario Reign, after a 5-2 loss the game prior Abbotsford was looking to make a comeback.  Ty Mueller and Tom Willander returned to the lineup, while Jiří Patera took his third start in net. Derek Daschke made his Abbotsford Canucks debut on the blue line. 

October 24, 2025 marked the Abbotsford Canucks home opener against the Ontario Reign. This night also marked the Calder Cup Championship banner raising ceremony prior to the game.  The banner raising ceremony brought the energy from the home town crowd. There were a lot of cheers for the shoutouts to the past team members who are no longer on the team.

The Abbotsford Canucks began their season with a road trip to Henderson, Nevada, followed by a second stop in Laval, Quebec. Their home opener takes place on October 24, where they will raise the championship banner in front of the hometown crowd. 

If you would have asked Abbotsford Canucks fans back in December if they thought that they would make the playoffs, let alone go on to win the Calder Cup, most would have said no. However, the Abbotsford Canucks proved that resilience and hard work payoff.  The year started off with an almost entirely new coaching and training staff. Manny Malhotra was brought on as the head coach, who had previously spent time as the assistant coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs. 

Max Sasson joined the Abbotsford Canucks during the 2022-2023 season. Throughout his time with the team he has been a consistent contributor, scoring important goals, and supporting his line every time his skates hit the ice.   Jaslyne sat down with Sasson ahead of game 5 to discuss the current playoff run, the home crowd and playing in front of a goalie like Artūrs Šilovs. 

June 21, 2025 marked game 5 of the Calder Cup Finals between the Abbotsford Canucks and the Charlotte Checkers.  Abbotsford entered into game 5 with a 3-1 series lead over Charlotte, but the battle was not over yet. Abbotsford looked to end the series, while Charlotte looked to push to game 6. 

Phillip Di Giuseppe has been around since day one, so it feels a little different seeing this group make it to the Calder Cup Finals. After years of watching the development of young teammates, sharing in the grind, and taking in the energy from the home crowd Di Giuseppe shares his experience.  GATG caught up with Di Giuseppe ahead of Game 4 to talk about what this run has meant to him, what the team is focusing on, and what goes into staying locked in during the biggest ga

As one of the original players on the Abbotsford Canucks roster, Jett Woo has seen this team grow from its first year in Abbotsford to a contender in the Calder Cup Finals. We caught up with him ahead of Game 4 to talk about what this run has meant to him and where the team's focus lies.

The Abbotsford Canucks and the Charlotte Checkers faced off in game 4 of the Calder Cup playoffs, Thursday, June 19, 2025 at the Abbotsford Centre.  Abbotsford came into the game off a 6-1 victory and the 2-1 series lead. Charlotte entered the game looking to tie the series. 

After a hard-fought split on the road to open the Calder Cup Finals, the series shifts back to Abbotsford with everything still up for grabs.  The Canucks took Game 1 in thrilling fashion with a 3–2 double overtime win, before falling 4–3 in Game 2.  We caught up with defenseman Victor Mancini ahead of Game 3 to reflect on the start of the series, the locker room mindset, and what’s ahead.

After splitting the first 2 games of the Calder Cup Finals on the road, including back-to-back overtime thrillers, the Abbotsford Canucks returned home to a sold-out crowd for Games 3 through 5.  Forward Sammy Blais reflected on the opening games, the relief of the overturned goal, and what it means to chase a championship in front of a passionate home base.

June 17, 2025 marked game 3 of the Calder Cup finals between the Abbotsford Canucks and the Charlotte Checkers. Both teams secured a win in Charlotte, and looked to take the series lead in Abbotsford. 

The Calder Cup Finals kicked off on June 13, 2025 in Charlotte, North Carolina, between the Abbotsford Canucks and the Charlotte Checkers. They will face off in a best of 7 series where one will claim the title of Calder Cup Championship.  Games 1 and 2 took place in Charlotte before moving to Abbotsford for games 3, 4 and 5, before potentially shifting back to Charlotte for games 6 and 7. 

With the finals just a day away, Girls at the Games chatted with Victor Mancini about how the group has grown, what they’re focusing on, and what this whole experience has meant to him. Mancini has played an important role in Abbotsford’s playoff run. Coming in mid-year after being traded from the New York Rangers Organization, he quickly found his place with the team on and off the ice. 

After the team’s final skate before heading to Charlotte, Jaslyne caught up with Chase Wouters to chat about the season, the road to the Finals, and what they’re focusing on heading into the next round.

June 8, 2025 marked game 6 of the Abbotsford Canucks and Texas Stars series. The past 3 games were played down in Texas, where Abbotsford won 1 of the 3 games, forcing the series back to Abbotsford.  This was an important game for both teams, as Abbotsford looked to win and secure their place in the finals, and Texas looked to win and push the series to game 7. 

May 29, 2025 marked a historic game for the Abbotsford Canucks as they kicked off round 4 of the Calder Cup playoffs against the Texas Stars, in a best of 7 series, at Abbotsford Centre.   This was the first time these teams have met in franchise history. It was a game of learning each other's playing styles and the strength of the goalies. 

May 16, 2025 marked the start of round 3 for the Abbotsford Canucks, who faced off in a best of 5 series against the Colorado Eagles. 

May 7, 2025 marked game 3 in a best of 5 series for the Abbotsford Canucks against the Coachella Valley Firebirds. Both teams entered the game with 1 win each.
