July 22, 2025 marked the beginning of a 7 game home series for the Vancouver Canadians against the Eugene Emeralds. This series was filled with events starting with Pride night for game 1.
The series started with an unfortunate 12-3 loss for the Canadians. However, that did not stop them from trying to fight their way back in game 2.
Game 2 had fans celebrating Christmas in July, where holiday festivities and music took over the stadium. Fans showed up ready to celebrate and enjoy the evening game.
The Emeralds came out swinging and opened the scoring in the top of the first. However, the Canadians couldn’t find their footing quite as early.
The game slowed down in pace with neither team being able to bring in a run until the top of the fifth, where the Emeralds would secure another 2 runs. Giving them a 3-0 lead.
The Emeralds would score another run in the top of the sixth putting their lead to 4-0. The Canadians continued fighting and landed themselves their first and only run in the bottom of the eighth.
Though they tried to close that gap in the final innings they were unable to do so and game 2 went to the Emeralds, giving them a 2-0 lead in the series.
Thursday, July 24 the Canadians and Emeralds faced off in a double header. This was due to a game cancellation when the teams last faced each other in Eugene.
Game 1 of the double header went to the Canadians in a 4-3 victory after going into 4 extra innings, giving them their first win of the series.
The Emeralds took the break between games to recoup and came out swinging, landing them a 5-1 victory in game 2.
Friday afternoon the teams faced off again, in another close game, but despite the Canadians best efforts the Emeralds would take the game 6-5 in the tenth inning.
Saturday, July 26 was country night at Nat Bailey Stadium and fans showed up in style. This was also the final appearance of the Lumberjack jersey's for the season.
The game remained close all night but the Canadians rallied in the tenth inning, winning 5-3. The night was capped off with a stunning firework celebration.
The final game of the series took place Sunday afternoon. The score remained runless up until the top of the seventh, where the Emeralds would score the only run of the game. This would lead them to a 5-2 series victory over the Canadians.
The Canadians next home series begins on August 5, 2025 against the Hillsboro Hops.
