The Formula 1 summer break is coming to a close, marking the beginning of the second half of the 2025 season. The first half saw plenty of action in the World Championship for Drivers, including what looks to be the dethroning of four-time consecutive champion, Max Verstappen, and 2 first-time championship leaders in McLaren teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

On August 23, 2025, the Vancouver Whitecaps took on St. Louis City SC for the second time this MLS season. The last game ended in a clean sheet draw, but this time the Whitecaps won, taking the game 3-2 off a late penalty kick that saw Müller score his first goal as a Whitecaps.

August 19 marked the final regular season match up between the Vancouver Canadians and the Tri-City Dust Devils. This series also introduced 2 new faces to the Canadians line up with third baseman Tucker Toman and right fielder Matt Scannell joining the roster.

The Vancouver Whitecaps were back in MLS action this Sunday, August 17, 2025 after a brief trip to Ontario for the 2025 Telus Canadian Championship. The Whitecaps were looking for a win to close in on the top spot of the Western Conference standings, but had to settle for one point from a 1-1 draw against the Houston Dynamo FC.

Nina Jobst-Smith sat at a table with her girlfriend and parents, waiting to hear which team she would end up playing for in the Professional Women’s Hockey League. With emotions rising and heart racing, a media coordinator stood behind her before Vancouver's selection. At that moment, she knew her name was going to be called.

On Saturday BC Place filled with energy and cheers as the BC Lions reminded their fans what it was like to win at home. The Lions, who have not won at home since the season opener went on to defeat the Montreal Alouettes 36-18. With Nathan Rourke throwing 4 touchdowns and the defense swarming all evening, the Lions extended their win streak to 2.

August 5, 2025 began the 6 game series between the Vancouver Canadians and the Hillsboro Hops. This would be the last matchup between the 2 teams at Nat Bailey Stadium this season.

In their final home game of the regular season, the Vancouver Bandits proved why they’re at the top of the standings in the CEBL in their win over the Winnipeg Sea Bears on August 3.

On Sunday, July 27, 2025, the BC Lions, sitting fourth in the Western Division, hosted the second-seeded Hamilton Tiger-Cats at BC Place for their 1,200 club game.

July 22, 2025 marked the beginning of a 7 game home series for the Vancouver Canadians against the Eugene Emeralds. This series was filled with events starting with Pride night for game 1.

The BC Lions hosted the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday July 19 at BC Place in front of a lively crowd. This came as part of their third annual Watermelon Smash Game, a unique theme night aimed at raising awareness for food insecurity across Canada.

July 18, 2025 marked the start of a 3 game series between the Vancouver Canadians and the Spokane Indians. This was their first series back after a 10 game road trip and the All-Star break.

July 9, 2025, the Vancouver Whitecaps took on Valour FC in leg 2 of their quarter-final matchup in the 2025 Telus Canadian Championship. With the first leg ending in a 2-2 draw, the aggregate score was tied. Whoever won leg 2 would move on. The match against Valour marked Brian White and Sebastian Berhalter’s return from international duty for team USA. They played in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, making it to the finals where they lost 2-1 to Mexico.

The Vancouver Bandits welcomed the Brampton Honey Badgers on July 6. The Bandits are now 11-3 in the season after Sunday night’s win. As is the norm lately, there were roster changes announced ahead of the game. In addition to Kyle Mangas being placed on the suspended list for the NBA Summer League requirements with the San Antonio Spurs, Tyrese Samuel was away after signing with the Brooklyn Nets earlier in the week.
