The Vancouver Whitecaps took on the Portland Timbers on September 24, 2025 in MLS action and in a regional battle for the Cascadia Cup.  In a fight for the Whitecaps to earn points towards the Supporters’ Shield and the Timbers to earn points to capture a playoff spot, both teams had to settle for a point, with the match ending in a 1-1 draw.

September 24, 2025 marked the second game of the Vancouver Canucks pre-season. Game 1 the Canucks faced off against the Seattle Kraken, but fell short in a 5-3 loss.  The Canucks looked to battle back against the Calgary Flames at the Abbotsford Centre for game 2, their first home ice advantage of the pre-season. 

On September 19, 2025, the Vancouver Warriors announced their schedule for the 2025-2026 season. After making it to the NLL Playoffs for the first time in franchise history last season, the Warriors will work to take the next step by making their first NLL Finals appearance and competing for their first NLL Cup.

The 2026 Winter Olympics for Men’s Hockey begins on February 11, with the final, gold medal game, being played on February 22. Canada is 1 of 12 nations competing for Gold. They will start the tournament in Group A, playing Czechia, Switzerland, and France. Group B consists of Slovakia, Finland, Sweden, and the host country, Italy. Group C consists of the United States, Latvia, Germany, and Denmark.

The Vancouver Whitecaps are headed back to the Canadian Championship Final after a dominant 4–0 victory over Forge FC at BC Place on Tuesday night, sealing a 6–2 aggregate win and keeping their dream of a historic four-peat alive.

September is Suicide Prevention Month. This month is meant to shed light on one of the leading causes of death across all age groups. Within the past few years topics around mental health and suicide have made its way into the sports community. 

The BC Lions took on the Ottawa Redblacks at BC Place, Friday night September 12, during their first ever Campus Clash games.   Pre-game the Lions hosted a series of college themed events in their backyard pre-game party. Students from local universities represented their school while competing in flip cup, corn hole, and even a (dry) ramen eating contest. 

On September 13, 2025, the Vancouver Whitecaps played the current Supporters' Shield leaders, Philadelphia Union. A dominant showing from the Whitecaps saw them take down the top of the league 7-0, the clubs largest margin of victory in their history.

The upcoming NHL season is fast approaching, and at the mid-season break, some Canucks players could be jetting off to Milan, Italy to represent their home country at the 2026 Winter Olympics. 

September 2, 2025 marked the start of the last home series for the Vancouver Canadians against the Everett Aquasox. This season was one of ups and downs for the Canadians, but this final series was one for the books. 

No matter what event you are watching or attending, music has made its way into the realm of sports. Whether it's a walk up song in baseball, a goal song in hockey, or music playing throughout the stadium or arena throughout the game, music adds to the experience of the game. 

The Formula 1 summer break is coming to a close, marking the beginning of the second half of the 2025 season. The first half saw plenty of action in the World Championship for Drivers, including what looks to be the dethroning of four-time consecutive champion, Max Verstappen, and 2 first-time championship leaders in McLaren teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

On August 23, 2025, the Vancouver Whitecaps took on St. Louis City SC for the second time this MLS season. The last game ended in a clean sheet draw, but this time the Whitecaps won, taking the game 3-2 off a late penalty kick that saw Müller score his first goal as a Whitecaps.

August 19 marked the final regular season match up between the Vancouver Canadians and the Tri-City Dust Devils. This series also introduced 2 new faces to the Canadians line up with third baseman Tucker Toman and right fielder Matt Scannell joining the roster. 

When you think of the top Rugby teams in the world, nations like New Zealand, Australia or England come to mind or maybe even the USA with their popular star Ilona Maher. However, in the quiet shadows sits the dominant force of Team Canada, ranked number 2 in the world. 

Over the course of 20 years, Taylor Swift has made music and continued to grow as the biggest artist in the world. Last December, she finished her iconic Eras Tour at BC Place in Vancouver. Her music and person has not only impacted the music industry but it has begun to have an effect on the sports industry as well.

The Vancouver Whitecaps were back in MLS action this Sunday, August 17, 2025 after a brief trip to Ontario for the 2025 Telus Canadian Championship. The Whitecaps were looking for a win to close in on the top spot of the Western Conference standings, but had to settle for one point from a 1-1 draw against the Houston Dynamo FC.

Nina Jobst-Smith sat at a table with her girlfriend and parents, waiting to hear which team she would end up playing for in the Professional Women’s Hockey League. With emotions rising and heart racing, a media coordinator stood behind her before Vancouver's selection. At that moment, she knew her name was going to be called.

In a disappointing and anticlimactic loss at the end of a dramatic game, the Vancouver Bandits 2025 season came to a close on August 17 while the Calgary Surge moved on to the Western Conference Finals.

On Saturday BC Place filled with energy and cheers as the BC Lions reminded their fans what it was like to win at home. The Lions, who have not won at home since the season opener went on to defeat the Montreal Alouettes 36-18. With Nathan Rourke throwing 4 touchdowns and the defense swarming all evening, the Lions extended their win streak to 2.
